Cloud Computing

*  How would you use cloud computing with this particular example?
I created a list of all of the tools used during this summer camp.  I felt that if I knew I had it in one spot, I would use them on a daily basis.  I also think that in the future I might use this as a handout to parents and/or students on PIN nights for information about some of the tools we will use in class.

*  Would cloud computing be a useful tool in your classroom?  What are the pros and cons?
I really like the idea of using it in the classroom.  Last year, I linked all of my materials for in class handouts and mapping labs on my webpage through google docs.  That way, no matter what operating system or software the students had, they could access it.  The only downfall is when you get the random student who says they don't have access to the internet.  I think we also need to continue to educate our parents about the amount of information that we put online so that they understand that even in 6th grade, students will need to be going online for school purposes.

  1. I'm nervous about pitfalls in getting parents on board too. I think that many parents are suspicious of social networking sites (sometimes rightfully so) and it may be hard to convince them to embrace educational ones...

Thanks for generating the cheat sheet of tools. I've been meaning to do that!

  2. What a good idea! Can I steal it? :) It would be nice to have all of these tools with descriptions all in one place and handy. Do you have ideas of how you will educate your parents?

  4. So smart!!! Now can I get a copy too. I'm just finishing up the Fall 2.0 camp and don't want to forget about all the tools we used and or didn't use.
